Smoke detectors can save lives. Now, Homestead residents can have one installed in their homes for free, thanks to a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue grant. The department will distribute and install 2,500 smoke detectors throughout the cities of Homestead, Opa-locka and the neighborhood of Liberty City.

Conchs look good but fall to Pace
