Algoma Public Health has removed the swimming advisory for Spruce Beach and Spine Beach in Elliot Lake. Test results of water samples collected on June 27 & 28, 2010 met the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidelines for safe swimming.[...]

Arrest made in Elliot Lake beach explosives case

OPP have arrested an Elliot Lake man for scaring the community by leaving suspicious bottles on local beaches. Sean Michael Pitre, 18, is charged with explosive - intent to cause damage to property, explosives - making or possessing for unlawful purpose and mischief under $5,000.[...]
